A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Precious Little Lives Initiatives (Prelli), yesterday donated food items, textile materials and other household goods to Taimako Human Development Foundation of Nigeria, Ummul Khair Foundation and AlHisan Belsuma Academy in Kaduna.
The items worth millions of naira included bags of salt, 90 bags of rice, 20 bags of wheat, 100 gallons of vegetable oil, 150 cartons of noodles, 20 cartons of macaroni pasta, 50 cartons of sa chet milk, 50 cartons of sachet beverages, 100 cartons of tomato mix.
Speaking after making the donations at Taimako Foundation, the Prelli founder, Hajiya Nafisah Monguno, said her organisation “focuses on children and their wellbeing, especially their feeding and clothing, with the hope of having some children classes to promote education where children can learn to be self-dependent and to realise their potentials.” Nafisah, who was represented by Hajiya Farida Munir, said Taimako Foundation Nigeria “caters for the orphans and the less privileged by going after children begging with their parents, same with Ummul Khair Foundation and Al-Hisan Belsuma Academy; hence their decision to support the orphans and less privilege children under their care.” “We have gone round the Taimako Human Development Foundation of Nigeria School, we spoke with some of the pupils, they seemed to be well taught, spoke good English and they have a little garden where they grew potatoes ginger, moringa, banana and mangoes from which they feed the children,” she said.
Assistant Secretary of Taimako Foundation, Hajiya Amina Tahir Munir, who spoke on behalf of their President, Hajiya Nafisatu Babajo, expressed gratitude to Prelli for the gesture, assuring that the items would be well utilised.
