NGO frees 10 convicted Zaria prison 1st offenders

A non-governmental organisation, Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation, has put smiles on the faces of not less than 10 convicted 1st offenders with the option of fine ranging from N10, 000 and below by facilitating their release from the Zaria prison.
Speaking to newsmen in Zaria, the coordinator, Hajia Adama Shehu Aliyu, said “the prime focus of the Foundation is to empower widows and orphans and to also embark on prison mission like we are doing today.
“Today, we are concerned with Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation’s activities in the northern parts of Nigeria. It is interesting to know that within three years of our existence in the North, this foundation has empowered a total number of 6, 465 youth in different fields.”
She explained that the foundation has given free medical screening and treatment to 236 children and adults in October, 2017.
According to her, “it may interest you that to know that the foundation has also gave free medical treatment and purchase of drugs to 200 patients including payment of minor surgery between June 2014 and August 2017.
“Currently as I speak with you now, the foundation has 315 students under its scholarship scheme scattered across 82 schools from Primary, Secondary to Higher Institutions in Zaria, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Abuja.
