NGO honours Nigerians for humanitarian interventions, proffers solution to insecurity

A non governmental organisation, MyRole Aid Mission, has honoured over 20 Nigerians for different humanitarian interventions.
Speaking Thursday in Abuja during the 2021 edition of the Myrole National Humanitarian Service Award, the Executive Director of Myrole Aid Mission, Engr. Prince Solomon Gokas, said insecurity in Nigeria has been allowed to thrive by Nigerians and Government at all levels as a result of neglecting what we are supposed to do as a country.

He said: “Insecurity in Nigeria is a special case as we have as a people. We have refused to take responsibility to do what we are supposed to do as a people. In fact, the important question to ask is: what is Government doing to solve the issue of Insecurity in Nigeria?
“To solve insecurity, we must take care of three things, including out of school children. We must ensure we give birth to the number of children we can take care of. Also, we should provide enabling environment for youths to thrive. We are harming ourselves by neglecting the less privileged in society.

“It is our duty to take care of one another,so the less privileged will continue to constitute security threat if we neglect them. If you observe, those awarded are those who have been doing enough for humanity. We can only appreciate them, while God will award them.”
Also speaking, the DPO of A Division His, Plateau State, CSP Obinna Simeon Okpuru, who was honoured “for impeccable character, fairness and justice in discharging his duties”, said insecurity will soon be a thing of the past in Nigeria.

“I must commend President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubabar Adamu for the efforts put in place to ensure that insecurity is curbed in Nigeria. He promised to tackle Insecurity and he has been doing that. Corruption has been one of the problems we face in the police force, but there are many good officers out there, even far better than my humble self.
“Insecurity has been a thing of concern to me and many of us the Nigeria Police Force. However, there is more synergy now than before. The president is making key appointments and changing the security architecture. Government is buying more equipment too. I believe that will make sure that insecurity is a thing of the past,” he said.
