NGO partners Jigawa community to fight malnutrition

The residents of Masama Village in Kirisamma local government area of Jigawa state have developed a system of feeding their pregnant women and breast-feeding their new born babies against malnutrition that ravaged some villages in the state.

This was revealed by the village head of Masama, Alhaji Ali Bulama when reporters visited the village recently to assess the disbursement of N4,000.00 to each pregnant and nursing mother for the new born baby upkeep.

 Bulama said the feat was achieved through the assistance rendered to them by a non-governmental organization, Action Against Hunger’s health nutrition and sanitation programs.

 He said it was through this humanitarian gesture that the lives of their stunting children and pregnant mothers were saved; resulting to birth ofhealthy children as well as maintaining healthy mothers.
