Niger Assembly confirms second female Chief Judge

Niger state House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Justice Maria Sanda Zukogi as the Chief Judge of the state.
Justice Zukogi had been in acting capacity for about three months following the retirement of former first lady, Justice Fati Abubakar.
With her confirmation yesterday, Justce Zukogi became the second Chief Judge of Niger state since the creation of the state in 1976.

Speaking through the Chief Registrar of Niger state High Court, Muhammad Gwanja, the Chief Judge promised to enhance the administration of justice in the state.
She expressed appreciation to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for approving funds for the renovation of dilapidated courts in the state during the tenure of her predecessor.
According to her, about seven courts have been renovated while work on others will soon commence.
She thanked the governor and the House of Assembly for the appointment promising to work assiduous towards development of the state.
