Niger Delta ministry holds national meeting July 22

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs is set to hold its third regular meeting of National Council on Niger Delta in Umuahia, Abia state.
The meeting will hold between 22nd and 27th July, 2018.
The council meeting with the theme: “Fostering Synergy and Institutional Coordination for Development in the Niger Delta Region,” will address many issues such as infrastructural development, environmental management, human capital development, security, agriculture, among other issues affecting the Niger Delta region.
It would be recalled that the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, while addressing stakeholders at the 2nd national council held in Akure in September 2017, directed that the ministry should ensure that the Council on Niger Delta meets regularly in order to fast-track the development of the oil-rich region.
It is of note that since the creation of the ministry in 2008, it only held its 1st national council on Niger Delta in 2013 until this administration held the second edition four years after in 2017.
