The Niger state government has employed 1133 civil servants, including 515 health personnel in the past five years.
The chairman of the state Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Galadima, stated this at a press briefing in Minna Tuesday.
He said the health sector got the highest number of employees with 31 medical doctors, 115 house officers, 95 intern pharmacists and 262 other health workers.
He said, “We also recruited 218 personnel for the educational sector to alleviate the shortage of teachers in various subjects. 150 of them we’re deployed to Secondary Education Board and Science and Technical Schools Board while 68 others were deployed to Teachers Professional Development Institute towards ensuring the successful take off of the institute.”
He said that 328 personnel were however dismissed from service for various offences including certificate racketeering.
