Nigeria, Cameroon harmonise strategies against terrorists

A delegation of Field Commanders from the Cameroon Defence Forces on Saturday arrived Maiduguri, the Capital of Borno State and the epicentre of the fight against terrorism and insurgency in north eastern Nigeria.

Army spokesperson, Brig-Gen. Sani Usman said the 14 member delegation led by Brig. Gen. Djonkeb Fredrick together with his Nigerian counterpart to harmonise strategy in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.

He said the delegation meet with the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Rojas Nicholas and other Formation Commanders for the 3rd joint security assessment meeting between Nigerian and Cameroonian Operational commanders from 2 – 4 February 2018.

“On arrival, he said, the delegation accompanied by the General Officer Commanding 7 Division had quickly paid a visit to 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital to sympathise with some Cameroonian troops who were wounded in action during a recent joint operation with troops of Operation Lafiya Dole along the Nigeria – Cameroon border,” he said.
