Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, Kunle Afolayan, and 337 other prominent Nigerians have been announced as the recipients of the 2023 national awards, as revealed by the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs on Sunday.
The awards were bestowed in various categories.
David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, was honored with the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) title, while renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan also received the OON recognition.
Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen, whose goal secured Napoli its first Serie A title in 33 years, was awarded the MFR (Member of The Order of Federal Republic).
Socialite and businessman Terry Waya was likewise honored in the OFR (Order of the Federal Republic) category.
All recipients of the 2023 national awards have been requested to submit a digital version of their citation or resume to the ministry no later than May 31.
Additionally, the ministry expects the awardees to be physically present to collect their medals and certificates on June 1, 2023.
