Nigeria Immigration plants multiple trees in Bayelsa

Authorities of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Bayelsa state have launched a beautification campaign of the command operational offices with the planting of over 30 trees in the state.

The NIS, under the leadership of Comptroller James Sunday at the weekend embarked on massive green project by planting trees around the command landscaped areas.      

The command in a statement issued and signed by Comptroller said as a rain zone with weather supporting growth of plants and trees, the command detailed Chief Superintendent Funwei Ebikedoumini in-charge of Border Management unit of the command to liaise with the office of the Director Bayelsa State Garden to use their gardening expertise to assist in planting 30 palm trees to beautify the commands environment from the entrance and surroundings of the Bayelsa Command taking advantage of the flooded soil which has the capability of sustaining deep rooted plants for their survival and growth.   

According to the statement, “The tree planting exercise will be extended to the other facilities of the service at the Immigration old command now Immigration barracks in the heart of Yenagoa, the Passport Office, all within Yenagoa township as the next phase of the tree planting project.

“A clean and beautiful environment is in the heart of a good corporate outlook, as a service that has more International dealings and first contact with the international communities, we can not afford to operate in a shabby, unkept and uncomely environment. Our public need descent and serene atmosphere, well ventilated and healthy for investment, business transactions that is related to Immigration Service. We are committed and will continue to offer cutting edge services, courteously, diplomatically and humanly.”

The NIS Comptroller also urged the members of the public not to hesitate to notify the command of any misconduct done them by any personel of the command.

“Any member of the public that has any complaint against any erring official should contact the office of the Comptroller at Bayelsa Palm both for redress and sanction of such erring staff. The Command will not and has not condone any untoward attitude or disservice to the public by any official of the service under the command,” he said.
