Nigerian Army good managers of resources – Amb Sheni

A retiring Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Amb assador Danjuma Nanpon Sheni, has said the Armed Forces, as an organisation has demonstrated character in the use of financial resources, saying it has continued to make maximum use of the resources available to it.
Sheni stated this recently, during the Defence Headquarters send forth ceremony organised to honour him, at the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Mess and Suite Kado, Abuja.
He explained that due to concerted effort made by the ministry leadership coupled with the gallantry of troops, the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency taken a positive dimension.
“The present administration, since inception, has made great impact in the fight against insurgency and other crimes as Mr. President has made it a point of duty to empower the military with necessary hardware to end the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, as well as the militancy in the Niger Delta area.
“These hae denied criminal elements the capacity to carry out attacks and greatly curtailed. I am therefore, glad to acknowledge the effort of our Armed Forces at bringing peace to the North East,” he said.
The retiring permanent secretary attributed the stability and relative peace in the North east to the resilience of the troops in the fight against insurgency and other social vices.
He charged the military not to rest on their oars, but to sustain the level of their dedication to defend the Nigerian territory from both internal and external attacks.
