Nigerian star hits 100th professional career mark

Former Nigeria junior international and Gabala FK ace striker James Segun Adeniyi has hit a personal milestone when he scored his 100th professional career goal in the season-ending game Wednesday in the 1-3 away defeat to Kesla FK in the Azerbaijan premier league.

The 28-year-old highly-rated attacker expressed his gratitude to God for the milestone he was able to achieve as a professional footballer.

“I’m indeed grateful to God for this achievement in my professional career. I also say a big thank you to all my former and present teammates, coaches and officials. And particularly, my family and friends for the love and support always.

“To score 100 career goals is huge. But I want to continue working harder and pray to God to continue to bless me with good health and injury seasons in order to achieve better, bigger and greater goals in my career,” Adeniyi stated in emotion laden tone.
