Nigerians react as ASUU calls off strike

Nigerians have reacted after the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) called off its eight months strike on Friday.

Blueprint had reported that the various branches of ASUU had begun voting on Wednesday to decide the fate of helpless Nigerian students who have been at the receiving end of the strike.

The Union after calling off the strike on Friday, many Nigerians on social media have reacted.

A popular tweep, Toye Kalejaye, said, “Meaning when another government come to power, the strike continues? ASUU’s perennial tradition!”

Another tweep, Sunkanmi Bello, questioned why the union had stay this long yet issue unresolved, “Every issues was not fully addressed oooo than staying all this while in the name of strike wasting peoples time for nothing.”

“That’s correct, but don’t make the mistake of embarking on another strike.

If ASUU dare embark on another strike again, FG will have no choice, than to go for overkill, that will mean outright proscription of ASUU.,” a tweep, Muhammed Abdullahi, advised.

Another tweep, Ayoola Albert asked what ASUU achieved after the eight months strike. He said, “Please manage the little at your disposal, others will be attended to in due time, let’s consider the victims of this fight between two elephants”
