Nigerians’ll not vote party in 2019 – Kana

A governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state, Hon. Ishaq Ahmed Kana, has said that 2019 general elections would not be based on party affiliation but on individuals’ track records. Hon. Kana, who was a former Member of the House of Representatives, told Blueprint that Nigerians will vote individuals with proven track records against those hoping to get elected on the credentials of political parties.

He said even though the ruling APC took over the leadership of the country at a time the economy of the country was comatose, he warned against repeating same mistake PDP made while in power. According to him, the challenges the ruling APC is facing at the moment is due to greed and selfishness of some leaders of the party. “I don’t believe that in Nasarawa state, belonging to a party can be a yardstick for one to win election.

In the state, people are conscious of this fact, people want their right, they know who to vote. In 2019, people will not vote for party but individuals with track record. “In fact, this government at the national came in on a bad situation, which they are trying to correct. Correcting wrongs won’t be easy because when you are building after destruction it’s always like that. We must also know that there are people out there who want to cripple this government and the party at all cause.

“Secondly, up till today most of our leaders have not realised that greed is the problem of APC. For instance, there are people in Nasarawa state that are occupying three positions. Can you imagine one person is SSA to the governor, that same people is a member of a board and he is also a member of a federal board; only one person, while there are people out there that are suffering because they don’t have the means.
