An aspirant to the position of Deputy National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the December 9th convention, Chief Benjamin Mom Dogwo, has advanced reasons Nigerians would prefer to vote the PDP in 2019 general elections.
According to him, the party’s sixteen years in power left visible dividends of democracy across all levels in the country which have had direct impact on the masses.
Dogwo, who is vying for the position of the PDP National Deputy Secretary zoned to the North central by the party, said the legacies that his party created for years were still speaking loudly, adding that it was a factor that the masses wouldn’t just ignore.
“Nigerians expect to see rehabilitation and restoration of all refineries, textiles industries and other industries that have the capacity of creating jobs and fostering development at all levels”
He identified infrastructural development, creation of employment opportunities for youths as major areas that should be the focus of any responsible government.
The Benue PDP aspirant said since 2015 when the party lost the general elections till date, there were no indices to show that the present administration led by APC can fix the current economic and other challenges facing the country.
He stated this, when he submitted his nomination form for the National Deputy Secretary at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, saying there was no how any political party would succeed in fighting corruption without adherence to the rule of law.
