Nigeria’s future lies on restructuring – Adeyeye

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Prince David Adetunji Adeyeye, has formally declared intention to represent AMAC/ Bwari federal constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
Adeyeye, a legal consultant, said for Nigeria to move forward like France, Canada, Australia and other developed countries, immediate restructuring is required.
According to him, developed countries realized that the future can only be sustained through systematic transfer of leadership from old to young people.
Addressing newsmen at the weekend in Abuja, Adeyeye said that he was making his political ambition public after extensive consultations with stakeholders in his constituency and political party, adding that he was obeying the wish of his people to represent them in government.
He said: “The reality of our future demands immediate restructuring of Nigeria for equity, justice and fairness.
It requires us to follow examples of young professionals taking over leadership in France, Canada, Austria, Italy, Spain and Croatia.
“Old politicians have refused to let go the rein of power for the young, professional, dynamic and ready-to-serve men and women of this country.
I believe in robust, quality representation and legislative agenda for community development, hence, my interest to represent AMAC/ Bwari Federal Constituency come 2019.” Speaking on his campaign slogan: “Legislative agenda for community development and diversity”, Adeyeye said that his major interest for venturing into politics and his choice of the House of Representatives, was to give qualitative representation to his people, which he said had hitherto been denied them by their current representatives in the National Assembly.
He said that past nationalists like Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Tafawa Balewa, among others, had the courage and audacity to disrupt bad leadership, nepotism, nonperformance, dirty-money politics and ‘godfatherism’ which he said kept the country stagnated, but promising that he was emulating them to give his constituency, especially the youth, political leadership, good governance and quality representation devoid of discrimination.
