Nigeria’s political structure diminishing – Group

A group, under the umbrella of National Coalition for Good Governance (NACOGG), has decried what it described as “the diminishing structure of Nigeria’s political heritage” and, therefore, called for “total reconstruction of a road map towards realisation of collective destiny of all Nigerians.”

Speaking to journalists yesterday in Calabar, the Cross River state Coordinator of the group, Mr Victor Osim-Asu, said all patriotic Nigerians should put hands on deck to ensure the country’s future was not sacrificed on the altar of political and ethno-religious sentiments being displayed by few selfish politicians.

He said such unwholesome sentiments were seeking to drive the destiny of the country aground and therefore reiterated the resolve of his group to work against politicians “without clear agenda towards sustained development as enshrined in Simple, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART) principle of successful governments the world over.
He said: “Nigeria as a country is faced with development challenges that span all sectors. It is obvious that fixing Nigeria is not a one man business, but collective responsibility of all of us.”
