Niger’s education in perspective

According to the legendary of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can to change the world.” While to the famous Walter Cronkite; “Whatever the cost of our libraries, the price is cheap compared to that of an ignorant nation”.

However, in the case of Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State, it seems like a divine mission where tomorrow does not exist. In tune with his statement credited to the above sages, Abubakar Sani Bello seems not to be in a hurry to accomplish so many things within a short period.
But I will not like to bore the readers with the many projects the governor has embarked upon as doing so will entail writing a book but I will briefly highlight the revolution witnessed by Niger state within the five months into the tenure of this young visionary man in the area of education, amongst others.
When Abubakar Sani Bello assumed office on May 29, 2015 he had a vision to reposition the education sector of the state in order to make it keep up with educational standard of the world. Having acknowledged the essence of education in the development of any state, he promised to do anything humanly possible by not only accelerating the development rate of the sector by standing it out as remarkable among other states and making it enviable.
He also promised to keep it up with the educational needs of the world. Thus he adopted some unique approaches that will make his administration achieve the set goals for the educational sector. Now, he is vast developing the sector which is demonstrated through execution of his various education-oriented programmes that will enhance performances and encourage the students to learn.

The sector has since his inception, been witnessing resurgence that will place it on the peak of recognition in the world. Today, the people are applauding the governor’s administration for its commitment to develop the educational sector, as the administration is recording great achievements in all areas of the sector. The fact means that pining down the achievement of the governor to one main project is like looking for a pin in a haystack the reason being that his strides cutacross all sectors. The governor-lead governments on assumption of office declared state of emergency on the educational sector and completely took over the payment of salaries of primary schools and junior secondary school teachers hitherto the statuary function of the local government to ensure that the education takes its rightful place in his administration.

Indeed, behind every success man there is a woman, her Excellency the first lady of Niger state, Dr. Aisha Abubakar, has been performing greatly in health sector by giving free medical treatment to the needy so as to ameliorates the challenges in the health sector at all times. Ever since the assumption of office of the governor, electricity challenges as being a thing of past due to his tireless effort by ensuring Niger state as a constant supply of light as the power state.
Therefore I urge all the entire Nigerlites to exercise more patience, let believe in our governor and we shall not regret voting for the right man. God bless Niger state.
