The Managing Director of Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL Plc), Aliyu Abdulhameed has emerged winner of the CEO Today Magazine Global Award 2021.
The award, which is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Agriculture and Agribusiness, honours the most respected companies and their C-Level executives who lead the way for others on a global stage.
The Magazine notes the uniqueness of this year’s award noting that despite the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, some CEOs were able to successfully execute their corporate strategies and mandate.
Since his assumption of office as NIRSAL’s Managing Director, Abdulhameed, has been able to steer the ship of the lending institution to an enviable height.
The NIRSAL MD while Commending the Magazine for the award said it came to him as a surprise.
According to him, “would serve as a motivation in his quest to bring about even more positive change in Agriculture in Nigeria through my position as MD/CEO of NIRSAL Plc.”
“NIRSAL’s strict adherence to global best practices has proven to be effective given CEO Today’s recognition and award,” he said.
Through the leadership of the former Assistant Director at the CBN, NIRSAL has been able to creation the NIRSAL Agro Geo-Cooperative (AGC) concept, that structures farmers, aggregates their farmlands into contiguous stretches of 250 hectares each and links them with training, inputs, mechanization, financing and produce buyers.
