Abuja hospital celebrates 1,000 coronary angiogram procedures

In its bid to ensure that Nigerians do not travel abroad for cardiac-related cases, Nizamiye hospital Abuja said it has successfully carried out 1,000 coronary angiogram procedures since the commencement of the service in the hospital in 2015.

According to a statement by the hospital made available to Blueprint on Monday, it said that it is proud of this modest achievement, which is a testament to its resolve to contributing positively to the growth of the health sector in Nigeria.

“We have reached the 1,000 mark in coronary angiogram in our cathlab procedures, and it is indeed a milestone for us given the number of lives we have been able to save through this intervention. By this feat, we are more than buoyed to continue to render quality healthcare services to Nigerians.”

The statement further added that the feat was made possible with the quality of human resources in the cardiology clinic of the hospital, as well as the resolve of its management towards ensuring that Nigerians do not travel abroad for cardiac-related cases.

“Our one-stop cardiac clinic boasts of two expatriate professors of interventional cardiology as well as a fully functional cathab that caters to a wide variety of procedures such as emergency balloon, stenting of carotid, renal and peripheral arteries, pacemaker implantation and a host of other cardiac interventions.” The statement said.
