The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) while condemning last Wednesday’s bomb attack at Emab plaza, Wuse 11, also warned security agents at check points to  resist the temptation of creating vulnerable situations for terrorists to strike.
Acting General Secretary of the congress, Comrade Chris Uyot, also urged judicious use of the resources allocated for fighting terror, adding that time had come for Nigerians to be more vigilant by way of taking basic deterrent measures capable of delaying or preventing terrorists from striking at will.

On the build-up traffic on the roads, Uyot urged government to appropriately equip security personnel as well as teach them art of speedily screening vehicles in order to avoid build-ups.
He said build-ups on the road impact negatively on productivity, stressing that efforts must be made to make them less painful.

He described the Wuse 11 bomb blast as “a desperate act by evil-minded persons” to kill the robust Nigerian spirit by instilling in us fear.
He said: “We condemn this cowardly act and urge all true Nigerians and our friends not to be cowed but rise with a common resolve and accord to fight this terror. These wicked souls are a tiny minority and do not represent the Nigerian spirit.

“We can beat them and we shall beat them. Our strength lies in amicably sorting out our differences and suspicions as well as strengthening our internal governance regime and institutions. It is evident that our traducers do not discriminate in their campaign of slaughter and destruction.”
