NLO will run for 8-weeks – Ogunnowo

 

The Chief Operating Officer of the Nationwide League One (NLO) Sola Ogunowo has disclosed that the 2019/20 will run for only eight weeks before concluding its season.

Ogunowo while reacting to questions on Sports WhatsApp platform, FUBF, said the league will be completed within eight weeks adding that the clubs will be notified ahead of time to prepare their teams for the league.

He stated that the Nigeria Football Federation has given a standing order that the League must hold this year, though a go ahead order from the government will determine when the league will kick off.

“The league will surely be played this year, NLO will go on this year. There are many format to play the league but set aim might not be met. Certainly, we will achieve 80% of why the league is set up if will play it this year.” He said

“Our strategy is very simple we will be looking at doing a zonal league for Division One, Division Two and Division Three because the Nigeria Football Federation has give us a standing instruction that once the league resume it must end in 8 weeks.

“So, we have already set out our project and plan is in place, the board has met and a decision has been taken and forwarded to Nigeria Football Federation . We are only waiting for the Nigerian Government to give us go ahead to start preparation.

He said the NLO management will communicate with the club once the coast is clear on the league resumption and three or weeks notice for preparation will be given to clubs.
