NNL: Insurance grab first away win over Holly Arrows

Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin on Tuesday defeated Holly Arrows of Oleh to get first away win in the current season of the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Highly experienced midfielder Elijah Simon scored twice within minutes(74,85 minutes) to secure the important away maximum points for Insurance at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Recalled that Holly Arrows versus Insurance week 15 game was declared inconclusive after 71 minutes as a result of Holly Arrows fans’ trouble.

The Benin Arsenal have now moved to 4th position on Group B2 log with 31 points, three points behind table toppers Remo Stars.

Insurance are scheduled to host Abia Comets in another outstanding game on Saturday, July 20,2021 and victory in the home game would take them to the top of the table.

Meanwhile, Coach Monday Odigie has been reappointed as the head of the technical crew of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin. 

Coach Odigie’s reappointment received the approval of the Deputy Governor of Edo state Rt. Hon Philip Shaibu after Insurance exit from the Aiteo Cup and has

since Monday,July 12,2021 assumed duty as the Technical Director of the Edo state government owned club. 

Coach Odigie’s return, according to Insurance management is to add value and discipline to the team’s technical Department.

Benard Ogbe and Greg Ikhenoba remain chief coach and assistant coach respectively.
