NNL last match: Kada City smell match fixing, raise alarm

The Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) hopeful Kada City Football Club of Kaduna, Ekene Adams, has alleged that the two Abuja clubs, EFCC Football Club and NAF Rocket FC with the support of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) have concluded plans to fix the last league match of the group slated for Saturday July 6, 2019.

Kada City are currently plying their trade in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Speaking with news men in Abuja, Ekene alleged that there was grand plan to ensure that two clubs from FCT made it to the Super 8 with Road Safety already qualified.

The club owner also alleged that the three parties have concluded plans to assist NAF Rockets FC to win promotion to the NPFL.

Ekene who has been disturbed by the unfolding plans said he has video evidence of how NAF Rockets deployed Military personnel whenever they faced any opponent especially at their home ground located at a pitch within Keffi in Nasarawa as a way to scare them.

He then appealed to the affected parties to play by the rules and ensure that EFCC play their game honourably without any inducement or favour from any quarter.

Ekene also alleged that EFCC Football Club openly stated that they do not have plans to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League and they are ready to give the final league match to NAF Rockets FC

“Some few elements wants to hold the league to ransom in the persons of the Abuja FA in conjunction with EFCC football club and the NAF football club.

“The league has come to the last game which will be played this weekend. The NNL has done well for the fixtures and three team are jostling for the first position that will represent the group at the Super 8, which are EFCC Football Club, NAF Rocket of Abuja and Kada City of Kaduna.

“I think that if care is not taken there are plans to fix the league because it has shown itself in the last two games with lots of threats, with NAF using military guys to harass people. And i also think that EFCC has come out to say that they have nothing to lose because they cannot play next season because they have no sponsors”, Ekene also alleged.

“So we need to call the attention of the EFCC Chairman to this and to say that the country is watching him and the President Buhari’s slogan is to fight corruption, and i do not think it is better for the Nation to witness such act,” he said.
