No commitment to support any candidate for ICAO- Minister

The federal government said that it has not made commitment to support any candidate for the Council Presidency of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

A statement by Deputy Director, Ministry of Aviation, James Odaudu explained that the Minister of State for Aviation Hadi Sirika during a visit of the UAE Ambassador and the country’s ICAO Council Representative said Nigeria would join hands with other member-nations to elect someone with capacity to build on the achievements of the outgoing Council President, Dr. Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu.

He also said that Nigeria has not taken a decision on any of the candidates and as a major player in the aviation community, will make its choice known at the appropriate time, as it had always done.
