No crack, faction in Yobe APC – Senate Leader

Senate Leader, Dr. Ahmed Lawan, has debunked claim of an existing faction “drawn along supporters of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam and some senators in Yobe following the just concluded congresses in the state,” describing it as false, cheap and malicious.
Lawan, in a statement signed by Executive Director of SAIL Youth Empowerment Foundation, Habu Kaku, and made available to journalists said, “It is imperative to state that, the Senate Leader has continued to support and identify with the lofty policies and programmes of Governor Gaidam.
“It is on record that the congresses were conducted peacefully with the Senate leader in full attendance and participated in the election of the state leadership of the party.” The statement said “the loyalty of distinguished Senator Ahmed Lawan to His Excellency, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam and the government of Yobe state is solid, total and unshaken.
“We also wish to state that if the article was sponsored to cause disaffection or mislead the public, it has failed to achieve its intent because there is no existing faction within the APC while our collective support and loyalty to the governor remains unflinching.” Blueprint recalled an article: “2019: Yobe senators disagree with Gov.
Gaidam over APC governorship candidate” in which the author claimed that two factions have emerged in the state chapter of All Progressives Congress, Abuja and Yobe, respectively.
The senate leader said the clarification became necessary in order to put to rest the insinuations going around on “some imaginary love-lost between the governor and some senators in the state.”
