No going back on corporate governance – BPE

The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has insisted that it would not back down on its stance on corporate governance in privatised enterprises.

Director-General of the Bureau, Mr. Alex A. Okoh, said this when he received the a delegation from the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of Nigeria led by its Executive Secretary Mr. Daniel Asapokhai on Tuesday in Abuja.

Okoh explained that due to its position on corporate governance issues it had to come out with a code of conduct to guide government appointed directors on privatised enterprises.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Mr. Daniel Asapokhai, had said the purpose of the visit was to present a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Council and the Bureau on how best the two organisations could work together.
