No herdsmen attack at Big Joe in Kogi- Police

Kogi State Police Command has described the news peddling on the social media that, Herdsmen walked into the Terminal of Big Joe Transport in Kogi and shot all the passengers boarding to travel to Edo State as false, unfounded and a  calculative attempt to manipulate  the mindsets of Nigerians and the good people of the State 

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police  Public Relation Office of the Command DSP William Ovye Aya on behalf of the Commissioner of Police Hakeem Busari  which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday.

The statement said the news was an imagination of the source, saying nothing of sort has happened in any part of the state including Lokoja the state capital.

“The Command wish to state categorically clear that, this report is false and unfounded calculated at manipulating the mindsets of Nigerians and the good people of the State .

“Kogi State is not safe as a result there was not herdsmen attack before , during and after the festive period because of the proactive effort of the security agencies in the state”

“The Command therefore call on members of the public to disregard such news in circulation in social media as such incident never occur in Kogi State” the statement added.

The statement urged the law abiding citizens of the State to go about their lawful businesses and to always avail the security agencies with credible information on the existence of criminal elements in the State.

While assuring the people  of the  renewed commitment of the Command to guarantee protection of lives and property, the statement added that criminals elements can no longer operate freely in the state without been napped .
