No hiding place for Seychelles – Alloy

Super Eagles goalkeepers’ trainer, Alloy Agu his dispelled insinuations that the team will not be on their toes for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.

The Eagles have already qualified for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, with a match to spare, which means their March 23 game with Seychelles is a mere formality, but Agu insists they will not take the game with levity.

Rather than head into the encounter with a laissez-faire attitude, the ex-international goalkeeper-turned-coach stressed during a radio sports programme there will be much at stake for the Eagles from the game.

Agu said it important to note that the game will be at home, hence his pledge that the Eagles will not give up their pride in allowing the visitors carry the day in the Delta State capital.

He went on to add that the Eagles’ technical crew also want to use the match to kick-start their preparations for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, and they want to set the ball in motion on a winning note.

The Eagles’ goalkeepers’ trainer, who starred for clubs in Holland, Turkey and Belgium at the height of his career, added that the Nigerian players and coaches are also eager to satisfy the yearnings of their teeming fans.

“We know what Nigerians want. They want to see us winning, and that is also what the team wants.

“There is also something at stake from the match. We want to keep our pride in place by not losing at home, and we want to start our build-up to the AFCON with this game.

“We want to prepare well for the AFCON tournament, so that we can do well, and it will be good for us to go there with good results,” Agu said.
