No Muslim denied admission in Taraba nursing college – Provost

Provost, Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Mr. Augustine Nfor, Sunday denied allegations that the school management only favoured Christians in the admission process.

Nfor, who spoke to Blueprint in Jalingo through the college public relations officer, Mr. Nwunwi D.J Gideon, said the 2019 admission into the college was done purely on merit.

He added that those admitted got into the college through aptitude test conducted by management of the institution last August.

He maintained that the allegation that only 15 Muslim students were offered admission into the college was false, untrue and baseless.

“The College of Nursing and Midwifery is meant for all Tarabans, irrespective of religious, tribal and cultural differences.

“The college cannot and will not deny anyone admission provided he or she is qualified.

The general public must know that they are people whose work is to distract the peace of the state,” he said.

He warned those spreading fake information to as a matter of urgency desist, adding that such information could cause crisis that would have negative effects on the progress being witnessed in the college presently.
