No parallel ward congress in Kogi –Nze – Jumbie

The Chairman APC Wards Congress Committee of APC for Kogi state, Mr Bestman Nze-Jumbie, has berated those who claimed that there was a parallel ward congress in the state. Nze-Jumbie, who refuted the claims at a press conference in Lokoja, yesterday explained that the committee refused to accept affirmation except in some areas where the people unanimously resolved to step down for one person. “The exercise went smoothly and peacefully in all the 239 wards in the state.
We created a level playing ground for the participants and there is going to be an appeal committee that anybody who have the reason to complain can run to. “There was no directive from anywhere that we the committee members should hold an affirmative congress. As politicians we are unaware that in some areas there can be consensus where the people unanimously decided and agreed to step down for one person.
“Such areas affirmation can take place, but where that is lacking the people are allow to vote for the person they want because we were warned against imposition or segregation during the process”, he said. The Committee Chairman who emphasised that there was no parallel congress in Kogi state, said the committee which comprises of seven members did not witness any other APC congress other than the one the committee organised and supervised.
