No rift, petition against ASCON DG, board chairman declares

The Chairman, Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Hon. Nduka Anyanwu has reacted to claims of rift between the Governing Board and Management of the College, describing the report in a section of the media as an imagination of the author.

The board chairman stated that its priority is to lift the standard of management at the agency.

In a statement Saturday in Abuja, Chief Anyanwu, denied all the attributions created to him by the report he described as “fabrication,” saying “the board did not author any petition not to talk of calling for a probe.”

The report had mishiviously said the board petitioned the Acting Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Folashade Yemi-Esan against the Director General of the College, Mrs Cecilia Gayya, even as described the report of a petition against the Director General as untrue.

“As a Governing Board, our utmost priority is to lift the standard of management, learning and processes at ASCON, and we are committed to doing so before the end of our tenure. In fact, as a matter of legacy, we are determined to leave the college better than we met it.”

Hon Anyanwu urged the general public to disregard the reports of a petition by the Board of ASCON against the Director General of the college.

According to him, the board is more committed to improving the standard of the college which can be best achieved with the support and co-operation of the management.
