No sacred cow in anti-graft fight, group tells Buhari

Executive Director, Disputes Resolutions and Development Initiative (DRDI), Dr Mustapha Muhammad Yahaya, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to spare anybody in the fight against corruption in low and high places.

Speaking at a one-day sensitisation forum organised by DRDI  in conjunction with  ActionaidNigeria held in Kano Tuesday, Yahaya  said despite the federal government’s vigorous effort to check the destructive menace, it  was still rearing its  ugly head in the top echelon of power.

He said the time has come for the Nigerian government to disabuse the minds of the international community that it had made remarkable inroad in sending the vestiges of corruption and other public misdemeanours in public service packing adding that a nation can never develop and attain the height of greatness with the monster of corruption eaten into its body fabric.

He stated that   in the world, leaders entrusted with the responsibility of keeping the custody of public treasury had striven to live above board without espousing kleptomaniac tendency to fleece the treasury adding that many of such leaders had died in utter penury.
