NOA disowns recruitment portal, warns public

Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri, has called on the general public not to patronise a purported recruitment website by the Agency, calling it a scam.

A statement issued his Press Secretary, Paul Odenyi, yesterday, in Abuja, said Omeri made the appeal he addressed management and staff of the Agency at the 2014 NOA General Staff Meeting.

He said the Agency had not sought approval for recruitment of personnel and therefore, will not be in position to advertise for vacancies. According to him, “any recruitment portal purportedly from the Agency was meant to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.”

Omeri stated further that the Agency would always advertize in national dailies for job placement, just as he warned job seekers to disregard the portal: www.bestjobs.com/noa describing it as the work of scammers.

The NOA boss, however, urged those seeking information about the Agency to visit any of its offices across the country or the Agency’s website and news portal.
