Nobody influenced me to play football – Odah

Enugu Rangers forward Odah Onoriode Marshal in this brief interview speaks on his football career and exploit in the club.

How will you rate your performance in the 2013/2014 Nigeria Professional Football League season?
It was good, but I wasn’t at my best.
So many had expected Enugu Rangers to perform better at the beginning of last season, what will you say caused the early struggles despite the galaxy of stars in the team?
You can’t predict the outcome of a football match. All the same we tried our best. Also, the motivation as at the first round wasn’t too encouraging. When the money started flowing our morale was high.

How many goals did you score and tell your fans the best game you played last season?
I’ve scored four goals. The match we played against Abia Warriors in Umuahia was my best game.

What are your plans for the future?
I want to become great in my career, so that I can help more people in the football family.

Who is your role model?
Netherlands and Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben.

Who influenced you to play the game of soccer?
I wasn’t really influenced by anyone to play football. It was a natural talent I got from Almighty God.

If you didn’t play football, which career would you have opted for?
Music, I love singing. It’s part of me.

Who is your best friend? And why did you choose him?
God is my best friend and I chose Him because without His Grace I won’t be were I’m today.

You have played for many coaches in your career. Who do you value most?
To be sincere all the coaches have been wonderful because I have learnt a lot from them.

Has football given you satisfaction in life?
Yes, but like Oliver Twist, I want more.

Where do you hope to be in the next two years?
Europe is my target by His Grace. I want to be at a standard club. I’m not too ambitious.
