None of my programmes has failed, Aregbesola boasts

Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, on Sunday, boasted that none of his programmes has failed as been alleged by the opposition party in the state.
He stated this in Osogbo, the state capital, during a chat with a retired broadcaster, Mr. Shittu Alamu, at a programme tagged “En-Route Rauf Series 11.
Aregbesola who specifically boasted that he would deliver ‘creditably’ on the programmes he started, insisted that none of his programmes has failed.
He explained that 250,000 pupils are being fed daily in the primary schools, saying “all the chickens are being sourced within the state.
Reacting to the claim by pensioners that his government was punishing them, Aregbesola described the action of the retirees as ‘satanic.
He wondered why the pensioners wrote the president to stop the allocation of the state
because of their own pension, saying they are being sent by the opposition.
When asked about the failure of the All Progressives Congress in the Osun West Senatorial by-election, the Governor said “the time has not come to expose what transpired in the Senatorial election, we have studied it and I can assure you that the coming governorship election will never be like that insha Allah.
He denied allegation that the imposition of candidate caused the failure of the party, saying “we followed due process and primary was conducted by the national body of the party.
Speaking on the plan to have a good successor, Aregbesola said, “I have no doubt in my mind that God will support me to have a capable and competent successor. I have faith in the capacity of the people of Osun to chose someone that will take us higher than where we are now.
Meanwhile, the pioneer president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Hassan Sunmonu, has appealed to Aregbesola to fulfil his promise by paying full salary once the economy change for good.
Sunmonu who was one of the discussants at the En-Route Rauf with a theme: Governance Delivered, said he accepted to be the chairman of committee on payment of salary because of the believe he has in the Governor.
He lauded Aregbesola for paying 13 month salary when the economy was buoyant, praying “by God’s grace, you will pay the backlog of salaries before the end of April next year.
A Professor of Anthropology, Niyi Akinnaso, and an analyst, Mr. Babajide Otitoju, who are also discussants at the event, lauded Aregbesola for his development on education and infrastructure.
Earlier in the welcome address, one of the organisers of the programme, Mr. Rasheed Raji Ropo, commended the Governor for delivering his promise on the six point integral action plan.
