Normalcy returns after weeks of bloodbath in Taraba communities

Normalcy has gradually returned to some trouble areas in Taraba after weeks of bloodbath and destruction of valuable property, following the crises that erupted between the Jukun and the Tiv in Wukari and herdsmen/farmers clash in Ardo-kola local government areas of the state.

Caretaker Chairman of Wukari local government Council, Hon. Daniel Adi on Sunday told journalists that peace has returned to Wukari and its environs following intervention by the government and security agencies.

Adi who regretted the crisis which has forced thousands of people to stream into IDPs Camps said the Jukun and the Tiv in Wukari must forgive one another and live in peace for the development of the area.

In Donga local government,  Hon. Nashuka Ipeyen the Caretaker Chairman of the council said peace  has been  restored after the killing of three persons in what seems to be a reprisal attack following the killing of three persons on their way to Wukari from Donga.

“We have talked to our people and the tension that was building in the local government has now died down.

“What we want is peace and only peace can guarantee development and economic prosperity of our people, “he said.
