Relative peace has returned to the war turn Wukari Local Government town of Gindi Dorowa with the 24-hours curfew and intensive patrols by the anti-riot police.
The police could not disclose the number of people that have died but they said 42 people sustained various degrees of injuries and are all hospitalized.
The police public relation officer ASP Joseph Kwaji told Blueprint that he is yet to receive information on the number of people that died but confirmed that 42 people sustained injuries in the crises.
When Blueprint visited Gindi Dorowa this morning, the ancient town was a ghost of its former self, as people were confined within their houses, and there was a heavy presence of security personnel, doing their stop and search and patrols.
Trouble started in Gindin Dorowa Sunday morning just 24 hours after acting governor Garba Umar visited Wukari town and preached peace. Gunmen attacked the town, the police refused to disclose death toll but sources said 15 people lost their lives.
