North-east Youth Assembly of Nigeria has described the appointment of Prof Aliyu Jauro as Director General of National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) by President Muhammadu Buhari as a right step in the right direction.
The Chairman of the Organisation, Mr. Tasiu Muhammad Pantami stated this while speaking during a press briefing in Gombe Monday.
He urged the new NESREA boss not to dash the hopes of Nigerians and the President but justify the confidence reposed on him and use the appointment as a challenge to surpass his own record and set new benchmarks for environmental issues in the country.
He said, “Professor Jauro’s appointment as NESREA DG is a proof of President Buhari’s commitment to assembling the right Nigerians to advise him and take forward his vision.
“Jauro, without a doubt, is one of those people needed by President who will convey his concerns and compassion; whose services will reach and bring comfort to millions of Nigerians across board, and who will combine his personal integrity with competence and commitment.
“By appointing such eminently credible professionals as Jauro and placing them appropriately, President Buhari’s image and vision would this time around, certainly be served by the quality and competence of the people he has assembled to work with him and see the nation through this difficult period.”
