North needs Bala Mohammad, the columnist

For some time now, Dr. Bala Muhammad, the great columnist of our time, has been one of the northern stars that stands tall in managing the Nigerian situation. Really, his write up of Saturday; January 16, 2021, was an eye opener of which northern Nigerian people got to stand up to resave our prestige.

Surely, many undesirable things of have happened in our country especially at the remembrance day of our heroes who gave their lives for the sake of Nigerian unity. Of course, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto and his beloved right hand man the Prime Minister and surely Zakariyya Maimalari and many others were the people that tried their best to keep the Nigerian flag to continue flying in order to join the league of nations that are progressive.

Our political heroes and forefathers did not die in vain seeing the laudable, courageous and marvelous legacies they left behind. Of course, during their time, the North was intact and every northerner whether MUslem or Christian had lived peacefully together for this would pave the way for others, especially our political foes, to foment trouble.

One of the unfortunate scenarios is the manner the former mid-west people also joined the wagon with the said people of Brutu’s mind to further escalate their hatred for the North forgetting how northern heroes did their best in seeing such region now so called South-south did ti maintain its present political status.

Methink, the coup of January 1966, was master minded by the people who dislike the way Midwest region got its political status like the three regions.

The current security challenges in the country must have been entrenched by a third party who pushed it down the throat of this administration. The new party by Obasanjo suggests that Obasanjo is playing god and by God’s grace his party and the legion fighting the government have unknowingly brought about their downfall; who is in the press that calls on me? I hear a tongue shriller than the music that cry, “Caesar” speak! Caesar turned to hear.

Soothsayer: Beware the ides of March. What man is that? Said Caesar.

Brutus: A Soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March. Set him before me, – let me see his face. Fellow, come from the throng look upon Caesar. What you said just now to me? Beware the ides of March: But the courageous – Caesar said, He is a dreamer, let’s leave him. “Kash”; the soothsayer may be wrong but the message is clear.
