‘Nothing special about the president’s speech’

Unlike most other delegates who would first pour encomiums on the President Goodluck Jonathan before making their statement, Njamze Bob, a delegate from Imo state did the opposite at the conference yesterday. He said there was nothing special about the President’s speech. Although he acknowledged that the president’s speech writers did a good job of the speech, “the president was merely doing his job”.

The only reason the speech is being applauded according to Bob is because of Nigerians’ penchant for sycophancy and “for turning privileges into rights and vice versa.
