National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to affiliate the institute’s PGDE and Bachelor Degree programmes with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
NTI Director General and CEO, Prof. Garba Dahuwa Azare, in a statement made available to reporters in Kaduna said that the affiliation would further boost teacher education and ensure that quality and international standards were maintained in teachers training across the country.
“The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the affiliation of the Institute’s PGDE and Bachelors Degree Programme (BDP) to the NOUN in order to boost further teacher education in the country.”

Speaking on the activities of the Institute, Prof. Azare said NTI has launched its new portal for registration of applicants and students and payment of all types of fees for the school’s programmes.
“With the commencement of the new portal, a marked change has occurred in some aspects of registration and payment of fees for all the institute’s programmes. Part of the changes include the abolition of the purchase PINS and the use of a few number of banks for translation. With the new portal, students can pay through their ATM cards and through any commercial banks father choice.

“A Remita number is generated automatically on submission of the appropriate information to the portal and hence any bank could be used for payment. All relevant information and guidelines can be found on the portal, www.nti.edu.ng, which supersedes all previous portals.”
The NTI management however, reiterated its commitment to quality training for Nigerian teachers to ensure a production line of great teachers to further increase standard of education in the country.
