Now that Radda is governor of Katsina state

I extend my congratulations to the amiable governor of our dear state of Katsina as he received the oath of office on 29th May, 2023.

Indeed, it was a memorable day for every citizen of our state as we hope the state will be transformed with infrastructural facilities that would have direct impact on the people, particularly rural communities, in the area of road network, healthcare delivery, security, education, job creation, potable water and other amenities.

I however advise the governor that, there is need for his administration to review the rural development policy of the state by setting up a committee to go round all the nooks and crannies of the state with a view to identifying some of the problems affecting the people particularly rural areas which I mentioned earlier and find out ways or mechanisms in addressing those challenges.

Rural communities in Katsina state need basic amenities such as good road network, healthcare delivery, rural electrification, security, among others, as they have been left behind in this regard.

However, in the area of security, Katsina state faced insecurity especially some local government areas of Dan’uwa, Dandume, Daskari, Bakori, Funtua, Danja, Kankara, Safana, Matazu, Jibiya Batsari, Matazu, Danmusa, Malumfashi, to mention a few, as a result of the nefarious activities of terrorists (armed bandits). This ugly trend has rendered many inhabitants homeless, penniless and created a lot of predicaments such as abject poverty as they extort ransom from communities (kidnapped victims).

On education sector, the level of education be it basic education and secondary level needs total reinvigorating, as such, there is urgent need for his Excellency to declare a of emergency in the education sector, recruit more qualified teachers at primary and junior secondary level for our children to have access to quality basic education in the state. The motive behind my observations is the state lacks adequate qualified teachers at primary and junior secondary school level all over the state for the last one decade.

I want to appeal to his Excellency to look inward in addressing the lingering insecurity bedevilling the aforementioned areas through collaboration with the federal government for peace to return, considering the fact that those areas I mentioned earlier are the backbone of food security in the state.

May Almighty Allah bless the administration of Dr. Dikko Radda, Katsina state and Nigeria at large. May Almighty Allah be with him to rule the state successfully for the benefit of all citizens of the state.

Long live Katsina state!

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!

Sanusi Muhammad,

Burdugau G’, Malumfashi local government,
