Plateau United recorded their first win of the new NPFL season when they beat league leaders El Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in Ilorin, and for the third straight week there was an away win – Heartland beating hosts Nasarawa United 1-0 in Lafia.
New signing Bernard Ovoke and Saheed Jubril netted the goals for Plateau United to end a poor start to the new campaign.
Heartland are the new leaders in Group B with six points from three matches after the win over Nasarawa United.
Kwara United fought back from a goal down to stop Enyimba 3-2, Kada City beat fellow promoted team Gombe United 2-1, while Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw at home by another promoted team Bendel Insurance.
Kwara United are now the new leaders in Group A with four points from three matches.
Wikki Tourists beat visiting Niger Tornadoes, Kano Pillars were held to a 1-1 by Akwa United and Go Round and FC Ifeanyiubah played out a scoreless draw.
