NPFL: Plateau beat Wikki, maintain top spot


Rangers, Kano Pillars lose at home
Plateau United maintained top spot in the NPFL following a 2-1 win against Wikki Tourists in their matchday-three encounter at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
Jackson Daniel gave Wikki the lead in the 12th minute but the home team rallied back with two goals from Mustapha Ibrahim and Abba Umar.


The Jos side who have now won all three games so far in the new season occupy top spot in the table on nine points.
Enyimba moved to second position in the table with a comfortable 3-1 home win against Akwa United in Aba.
The People’s Elephant took the lead in the 13th minute through Austine Oladapo who converted from a spot kick.


Stanley Dimgba doubled the advantage on the half hour mark, while Samson Obi netted the third three minutes.
Mfon Udoh reduced the deficit against his former club six minutes before the break. It was his second goal of the campaign for the Promise Keepers.
In Enugu, MFM recorded a shock 1-0 away win against six-time champions, Rangers.
Captain of the Olukoya Boys Kenedinum Chuks grabbed the winning goal on the stroke of half time.
It was the second away win for the Lagos club this season.


Douglas Achiv scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute as Lobi Stars also defeated their hosts Kano Pillars 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
FC IfeanyiUbah continued their impressive start to the season edging out Rivers United 1-0 in Nnewi with Chidozie Chilekwu scoring the only goal of the game in the seventh minute.
Rivers United are still searching for their first win of the season.
Delta Force recorded the biggest win of the day thrashing Jigawa Golden Stars 4-1 in Asaba.


Tasiu Lawal netted the winner from the spot as Katsina United defeated Katsina United 1-0 At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium(Completesports.com)
