NPFL: Plateau whip IfeanyiUbah, Heartland get first away victory, Sunshine bash Adamawa 3-0 in Yola

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders Plateau United returned to winning ways following a comprehensive 5-1 thrashing of FC Ifeanyi Ubah (FCIU) at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

Abdu Makaiba’s men suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Heartland last weekend, but were in ruthless form against their opponents who were below par in the game.

Abba Umar, Silas Nenrot, Mustapha Ibrahim, Bernard Ovoke and Tosin Omoyele were all on target for the hosts in the game with Ekene Awazie scoring the consolation for FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

NPFL Defending champions Enyimba lost for the second time this season going down 2-1 to Dakkada FC in Uyo.

Substitute Utibe Arit gave Dakkada the lead in the 75th minute , scoring from a rebound after Enyimba goalkeeper Olufemi Kayode fumbled Imo Obot’s free kick.

Victor Mbaoma restored parity for Enyimba five minutes from time, his fourth goal of the campaign.

Arit however won the game for the hosts slotting the ball home in the third minute of added time.

At the Aper Aku Stadium, Sikiru Alimi scored the decisive goal from close range on the hour mark as Lobi Stars moved to second position courtesy of a 1-0 home win against Abia Warriors.

Sunshine Stars recorded their first away win of the NPFL season , thrashing their hosts Adamawa United 3-0.

Former champions, Heartland also recorded a 1-0 away win against Kwara United at the Ilorin Sports Stadium.

Christian Pyagbara scored the decisive goal for Heartland from the spot on the hour mark.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United bounced back from Wednesday’s away loss to Enyimba by edging out hard-fighting Katsina United 2-0
