NPS Promotes 174 Bauchi Prison Officers

As one of the most outstanding Commands, the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) has promoted 174 Prison Officers of the Bauchi Command.

The newly promoted officers of the Bauchi State Command have been urged to consider their promotion as a call to duty and reciprocate the good gesture by working assiduously towards safe custody and reformation of inmates.

A statement by DSP Adam Abubakar Jibrin , Command Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Prisons Service Bauchi State Command said  the Controller of Prisons, Bauchi State Command, CP Suleiman T. Suleiman made the call in his speech at the decoration ceremony for the newly promoted officers in Bauchi.

The Controller of Prisons said the promotion is part of efforts of the Prisons administration under the able leadership of Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed, (CGPs) to motivate officers and men of the Service for effective service delivery.
He noted that out of the 174 officers and men promoted, (3) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller of Prisons (ACP), two(2) Chief Superintendent of Prisons CSPs, Three (3) Superintendents of Prisons (SOPs) and Eight (8) Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSPs). Others include; (77) Non-Commissioned officers, (52) Inspectors of Prisons elevated to the rank of Senior Inspectors of Prisons (SIPs) as well as 81 officers from the rank and file.

In their goodwill messages to the newly promoted officers, Security Chiefs from sister agencies in the state implored them to live above board and discharge their duties with due diligence and professionalism.
