NRA suspends 12 referees over misconduct

The following referees have been stepped down from further appointments in the NPFL pending their appearance before the Nigeria Football Federation Referees Committee concerning incidents related to the matches handled in the following matches, Week 32

Akwa United vs Enyimba : Nura Albulahi ZM, Aromona Moruf LG  Francis Friday BA

The referees will have to defend their actions in the said match.

In Week 33, Pillars vs Dakkada , the officials will explain how they disallowed ‘good goal’ scored by Dakkada to the top brass of the committee. The match officials are, Garbabi Abdurashd TR, Aminu Salihu FCT and Akinola Tosin EK. 

In Week 34 , Yohanna Dauda PL, Ishaya Usman GM and Okoye Cosmas AN will state what transpired in the match between Jigawa Golden Stars and Rivers United in Kaduna.

Lastly, Akwa Utd vs Warri Wolves, Olayinka Olajide LG, Isa Aliyu JG and Jimoh Abdurashd BA will explain in details all what transpired in Uyo in the said match.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) has expressed concern over certain performances by referees in the NPFL of  late.

The association is worried that the performances are coming after the NFF organised high capacity seminar.

Referees are also advised  to always report  immediately to appropriate bodies  accurate incidents related to security at match venues especially where it affects their lives and performances. 

Appropriate sanctions will be mete out to any referees found wanton in the discharge of their duties during the course of the game.
