NSCDC arrests 3 job racketeers

An Army deserter, Jatau Lazarus, 33, and two others who specialise in job racketeering have been arrested by operatives the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.
The gang paraded by the Commandant FCT Command, Patrick Upkan, was said to have been collecting money from people in the name of giving them jobs in the NSCDC.
He said the suspect and his accomplice, Stephen Lucky, 39, and Silas Jethro, specialised in online media recruitment, using the letter-heads of NSCDC to type their appointment letters, agreements.
Speaking to newsmen while being paraded, one of the suspects, a runaway soldier, Jatau Lazarus, said he was deceived into the business by an operative of the NSCDC “who always brings the letters to me to mobilise people to pay and gain employment into NSCDC.”
He pleaded for forgiveness, saying that if released, he would never get into such business again.
