NSCDC arrests 3 suspects for violating Oyo anti-grazing law

Three herdsmen are now in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Oyo state command for grazing about 400 cows in a community despite the anti-grazing law in the state.

The herdsmen were arrested by the Agro Ranger Team of Nigeria NSCDC, Oyo state command on Sunday 25th October, 2020.

It was learnt that the Agro Rangers men “at around 0130hrs dislodged unknown herders at Aroro Kole along Igbo Oloyin in Akinyele local government area of Oyo state after a distress call from the community to the Agro Ranger commander.

Commenting on the arrest of the herdsmen, Oyo state Commandant of NSCDC, Iskilu  Akinsanya, said  one of the herders, Babangida Musa, 21years, was arrested after a serious searching at the location where over 400 cows were seen grazing around the community.

However, in the course of investigation, the Leader of the herders identified as Yinusa, 28 and Saidu, 27 both based in Ogbomosho stated that the cows were passing through to Oyo town to link Ogbomosho.

Commandant Akinsanya stated that items recovered from the suspects included cutlass, knife, rope and bag.
